The Barrio de las Letras, also known as Barrio de las Musas or Barrio del Parnaso, is one of the neighborhoods with more history in the city of Madrid; and, most importantly, with more "stories". It has been in existence for more than five centuries and it has seen and lived such important characters as Góngora, Quevedo, Cervantes, Calderón de la Barca, Lope de Vega, Jacinto Benavente, José de Echegaray... In addition, it has always been an area of theatrical performances, from the old comedy corrals (El de la Cruz, El del Limonero, El de la Pacheca, el del Príncipe...) to the current theaters such as the Teatro Español and the Teatro de la Comedia.
